We’ve been busy. Here’s why:
Our daughter, Justina Luna, is about a year old now, and we’re excited to be getting back into the swing of things. Looking back over our design files and photos from the past couple of years, we were pleasantly surprised to see that we have done more creative work than we had realized – despite the nonstop needs of a new baby. Time to start making posts again! I see I have 15 minutes of Throwback Thursday left, so here’s some wedding calligraphy I did about one year ago:
It’s gorgeous outside these days, and it’s wedding season again! If you’re a bride or a groom, you know this. But did you know that, besides calligraphy, we also create custom cake toppers, favors, and wedding keepsakes? Now you know. Visit our Weddings page to see examples of our custom work, and call on us to help make your wedding beautiful and memorable.
We will use these photos, and more, while updating the Somatic Wellness web site and brochures. Why tea? Because when you, and a loved one, get a Couples Massage at Somatic Wellness, they serve you wonderful tea and chocolate covered strawberries! (And also when you do a photo shoot for them, I am happy to say.)
My daughter and I made these Mini Gardens for Mother’s Day. Gave one to my mom. I LOVED this project! The greenery is Thyme and the tiny flowers are Alyssum.
This is one of my favorite styles of lettering.
Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 12th
There’s still time to create a beautiful, personal gift for your mother, grandmother… or yourself, if you contact me soon.
I like to work from life best, casting a shadow on a wall, tracing it carefully. I can work with your own papers, or give you selections based on colors and styles you prefer.
If you can’t meet with me in person, or if you have a little one who just can’t hold still long enough, I can work from a photo, (one that I take, or one that you can give me, if it’s a very clear profile image.)
I can also shrink these images down small enough to fit in a locket, and I’d like to do a classic bride and groom portrait one day too. Oh, the possibilities…
